The life of the Wright Brothers, the book starts when their dad gets them a toy helicopter which sparked their interest for flying. It talks about their early years, their first jobs, and how they were inovative brothers and that they will never be forgotten. This is a complete biogrpahy.

Classroom extension: I would have the class each make a paper airplane and after they had completed we would go outside and test them.
Classrooom extension: Have the kids think of something that they would like to invent and write a few paragraphs telling me about their invention.… (más)

This book is a complete biography starting with when the brothers were born and where and continues on to talk about how neither one completed highschool or went to college. It explains how the brothers started a printing press and eventually sold it to open a bicycle shop. The brothers were gifted mechanics and with this store they could begin to work on learning to fly. The book continues on to talk about the different things they studied and the different attempts they had at flying devices.
This was not really interesting to me because i do not really enjoy airplanes and mechanics. I would however recommend this book to those future students i have who enjoy making paper airplanes and see how intrested they really are in how things fly.
For extension ideas i would have the class divide into groups and create an object that can fly. After they finish we will take them outside and see if any of their creations work.
Another idea is to have the students figure out the one thing that interests them the most and branch off different activities for them to explore that area.
