Warren A. Johnson

This book made a profound impression on me when I discovered and read it in 1986. Johnson's level-headed, historically astute prediction is that humanity will most likely muddle its way toward what we have since learned to call sustainability. Calmly pointing out how everything we believe about economics and prosperity is wrong, Johnson also taught me that you don't have to be a full-time Cassandra in order to qualify as a sincere environmentalist. The book's facts are now dated, but its philosophy remains sound. One of these days frugality may become a beautiful word.… (más)
