- LAURIE JOHNSON is Associate Professor of English and Cultural Studies at USQ and is a Vice-President of the Australian and New Zealand Shakespeare Association (ANZSA). His publications include The Tain of Hamlet (Cambridge Scholars, 2013) and The Wolf Man’s Burden (Cornell University Press, 2001), and he has edited scholarly collections, Embodied Cognition and Shakespeare's Theatre: The Early Modern Body-Mind (with John Sutton and Evelyn Tribble, Routledge, 2014) and Rapt in Secret Studies: Emerging Shakespeares (with Darryl Chalk, Cambridge Scholars, 2010). Laurie was a recipient of an Australian Learning and Teaching Council Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning in 2011, as well as the USQ Award for Teaching Excellence in 2009, and he was inducted into the USQ Teaching Academy in 2010. He has run seminars in Shakespeare Studies in Prague, Toronto, Vancouver, and around Australia, and has developed workshops for incorporating historical knowledge into teaching Shakespeare in the Drama and English classroom.
