Biografía breve
Marc Jacobs behaalde in 1985 aan de Rijksuniversiteit van Gent een licentiediploma in de Geschiedenis. In 1998 werd hij doctor in de Geschiedenis, aan de Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Zijn doctoraat behandelde netwerken en conventies in de Franche-Comté en de Spaanse Nederlanden van de 17de eeuw. Sinds 1999 is hij directeur van het Vlaams Centrum voor Volkscultuur. Hij verrichtte onderzoek rond charivari in Europa, populaire cultuur, Vroegmoderne en Hedendaagse culturele geschiedenis, cybercultuur en de geschiedenis van communicatie. Momenteel spitst hij zich toe op cultureel beleid, het erfgoedparadigma en voedingsgeschiedenis.

Exploring the partnership and synergy between the house of Louis Vuitton and its many collaborators, this book presents readers with a comprehensive overview. First, they provide short essays about Louis Vuitton's ventures into architecture, fashion, and art, but the book's real strength is in the A-Z section where they systematically showcase their collaborators. As in the majority of these books, I wanted much more (as I am sure that each of the artists, designers, or architects could fill their own book), but the short overview that left no one out was a nice introduction to many of the brand's nuances. It maybe would have been nice to see the topics separated into different books, because I'm sure that there is a market for each of the specific types of collaborations, but I can see why they presented the introductory books as a collaboration which explored exactly that.… (más)
