The River Runs South: A Novel por Audrey Ingram
Esta reseña ha sido escrita por los Primeros Reseñadores de LibraryThing.
Thank you Librarything for a free digital copy of The River Runs South by Audrey Ingram for an honest review. I really liked this book. I immediately related to Camille. How she worked so hard and found herself wishing her life away. I loved the story line, the romance, the family connections, the character growth, and the southern setting. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. Very well written and a very enjoyable read.

SPOILER ALERT: Received this ebook for free as an early reviewer. A quick read and a fast-paced storyline that didn't get bogged down. What I liked about the book was the Southern physical setting of the majority of the book. The way the author wrote about the settings made me want to visit there to see if it is truly as wonderful as she made it sound. The storyline was realistic as it exposed the grief and mental challenges of losing a husband and also mother/daughter relationships. The main character's daughter was a hoot! I loved her. The only thing I didn't like about the book is it took the typical path (which the reader could figure out early on) of the main character's husband dies and her life isn't filled until she meets another man. It didn't deviate in any sense of the woman finding fulfillment by hobbies, or career, another woman, or anything other than a man. She found fulfillment by coming back to her small-town and living near her parents and meeting another man.

WellReadSoutherner | 12 reseñas más. | Nov 3, 2023 | Very much like a Dorothea Benton Frank book only it takes place in Fairhope Alabama.
A very enjoyable book about a woman rediscovering happiness after her husband suddenly dies.
Why not 5 stars?
The 6 year old daughter in the book is painfully annoying, due to how precocious she is.
The character nearly ruins most of the scenes she is in.

zmagic69 | 12 reseñas más. | Oct 4, 2023 | A family with an unexpected loss that throws everyone into chaos and then another life altogether. Relocated, finding yourself and love again, both familial and romantic.. a story that’s been told over in many ways but Ingram has a sweet spin on it.
The characters are likable, both sassy and relatable and while the plot is somewhat predictable, I still enjoyed the ebb and flow of it. A nice, light read.
*I received an arc from the publisher through NetGalley for an honest review
