This book provides an accessible overview of South Korea's beauty culture/business and its effects on women within that nation and worldwide. The author poses an interesting--and concerning--hypothesis that Korea's advanced technologies are a harbinger for the cosmetic industry in general. I appreciated her approachable writing style and personal anecdotes about living in Korea, as well as her references to accomplished scholars like S. Heijin Lee. Recommended for all libraries.
