When you get a an old forgotten mystery brought back into print, you can never be sure if you will be getting a lost gem or something that should have stayed in the dustbin, so I pleased that this started out as a well written story with an interesting opening set up and premise, and the first half swung along. However, the story dragged on too long, and the solution was poorly clued and had a disappointing reliance on "reefer madness." But the end wrap up gained a couple points for avoiding a silly payoff on the romance front.½
