This book is everything you need for a very fun summer (and longer) with kids of any age. The ideas are practical, easy to follow, and fun. Suggestions are provided on how to use the ideas with different age groups to make them more or less complex. The materials are ones you probably have around the house or can easily and inexpensively obtain. Children can look at the beautiful full color photos and select activities they might like to try. The section titles for this book are: Boredom Busters; Crafts; Games; Simple Science. There is also a page of "Inspirational Resources" listing websites/blogs that have lots of similar information. I was specifically looking for activities for a 9-year-old boy, and I ended up bookmarking several pages. I really liked the design of the book with facing pages for each craft or game. One page contains instructions with a list of materials required, tips, and modifications for younger/older kids. The facing page has a picture of the pieces or finished product. I figure the Marshmallow Launcher is a sure "hit" as well as the: Straw Glider, Rubber Band Splatter, and the Toilet Paper Roll Spy Decoder.… (más)
