I don't want to read about teenage romance which is much of the beginning of this story. reading other reviews show that it is not a story I'm actually interested in reading. misunderstanding, no communication.

Love Waits is a beautiful, second chance romance about two people destined to be together. Typically, I'm not too fond of books with flashbacks; however, they did not take over the entire narrative in this story, and they kept me invested in Ashleigh and Gina's journey to their HEA. The real reason for their breakup could have been better developed, but, overall, this story was a five-star read easily.

I knew what I was getting into since I've read several of Hill's books. It's a standard lesbian romance novel. It's not great but it's not bad, either.

I thought Carly's continued response to her first relationship was too much but without it we wouldn't have much of a story.

Like a romantic movie, it's was a nice way to relax for a few hours and escape from the rest of the world.

This was an online fan fic that is super old. I really like Gerri Hill's romance books, though. They're solid and I always know I'm going to feel nice when I'm done.

Like all of Gerri Hill's stand alone romances, I enjoyed it. Nothing earth shattering or especially remarkable but sweet, angsty, and enjoyable. I really did like Madison and Alice. Good characters all the way around.

Like most of the romance novels by Gerri Hill that I've read, Snow Falls kept my attention and made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. And that's exactly why I continue to pick them up. They're perfect for a lazy day on the couch when you want to experience a sweet and happy ending.

6/10/14 - I reread No Strings yesterday and decided to reread Snow Falls now. Not much better than Gerri Hill romance novels to give you a little warm fuzzy. And somedays, that's just what you need. A literary hug, of sorts.

Nice read. I enjoyed this one a bit more than the last couple I've read by Hill, I think. But I do have a soft spot for pregnant women. I didn't care all that much for the narrator but she was still better than some. Just had some issues with her inflections and some of her character voice choices. The mothers both sounded snooty and Jordan often sounded a touch snotty. But the story was good, I thought. Not sure if I'd read it again. I guess I'll find out.

I think after I read my last Gerri Hill romance I said I wasn't going to read any more of them. I hope I remember that the next time I get the urge.

Hill used to be one of my go-to romance authors. Her books weren't spectacular but they were consistently easy to read and had characters I could connect with and that I cheered for. But the last two or three that I've read had characters who were pretty unlikable and, honestly, participating in or supporting behaviors that I found morally unacceptable (stalking, blackmail, peeping, etc).

There were times when I nearly quit reading The Neighbor but ended up sticking it out.

I actually listened to the audio book again but because Goodreads hasn't been able to figure out how to note re-reads without messing up dates and annual reading challenges, I'll have to do what they suggest and use another version for this reading...

I needed a light book that I didn't have to pay too much attention to while I worked so I didn't harm anyone on this terrible day at the office... I do like the story - very typical Hill - nothing spectacular, just two damaged women who find love with each other. Just like all the other Gerri Hill books. And I'm good with that.

This is what I need Gerri Hill novels to be. Sweet coming-home/second chance romances with family drama and good chemistry. No miscommunications, creepy secondary characters, questionable plot devices, just a couple of fairly well-adjusted adults discovering love with each other.

All of you old Hill fans who are like me and have become wary of starting a new book by the author should feel confident in picking this one up.

And the audio version is done well. Abby Craden has become a wlw favorite and, while I don't always enjoy the deeper, huskier voice she uses for one of the women in a couple, it was fine. The quality of the recording is good, which isn't always the case in lesfic.

Ok, that was sort of a ramble but there you go...

I liked it. Pretty standard Hill romance featuring nature and two protagonists who are sure they won't fall in love but do. It felt very familiar. Like I'm fairly certain there was at least one other Hill novel that had an exiled person in uniform who had been banished for sleeping with her boss's wife...

But I like it and Craden's narration was fine. Had some confusing conversations when the deep-voiced woman and her male best friend were chatting a few times but still fine.

I know that my last few reviews of Gerri Hill novels included words to the effect of "...really, I think I'm done with this author." So why did I decide to give this one a try? Well, Megan said I'd like it and she knows me pretty well. And she was right, I did like it.

After the Summer Rain feels very much like the older stand-alone romances by Hill. There were no creepy friends or stalkers or peepers, just a couple of emotionally damaged women who find love and peace with each other. This book reminded me a lot of [b:No Strings|5778593|No Strings|Gerri Hill|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1370031038l/5778593._SX50_.jpg|5950350] and [b:Snow Falls|13587079|Snow Falls|Gerri Hill|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1356670650l/13587079._SX50_.jpg|19174431] with nature and two women who aren't really enemies to lovers but more or less stuck together and forced to learn about each other and grow close. This is one of my favorite tropes in romance novels.

I know I'm not alone in going back and forth about Gerri Hill's books but I feel confident in recommending this one to all of you fence dwellers like me.

Very typical Hill stand alone romance with some of the same themes/plot devices as some other books. It mostly reminded me of Snow Falls but I didn't connect with this one nearly as much.

I really don't like the overly aggressive potential suitor characters that were in this book or, to a much larger degree, in [b:The Roundabout|30072944|The Roundabout|Gerri Hill|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1464464326s/30072944.jpg|50490990]. Particularly since the actions of those characters are played off as humorous or harmless.

But I did like the protagonists and the way they got to know each other and their journey, even if I'd seen it before. When I read a Hill book, I usually know what I'm getting and have gone there because that's what I'm looking for at the moment. This one did exactly what I expected so I'm fine with what I got.

I'd go 2.5 if I could but rounding up.

Like all Gerri Hill stand alone romances, I went into The Roundabout with mid-range hopes. Her books are never really stellar but they're almost always enjoyable in a light, easy read with moderately engaging characters who I want to see succeed and be happy.

Unfortunately, this one didn't meet my expectations. The book was shortish but still felt bloated with lots of repeated words and basic information. It could have been tightened up quite a bit to make it move along at a better pace but, as it was, not much really happened until nearly the end of the book.

Definitely not one I'd read again.

The copy I read was a review copy sent by the publisher.

2/18/22 - purchased the audio from Audible (had it for a while now but just got the urge to revisit Kay and Jackie). So I do still love their story but rolled my eyes at the regular mentions of blue eyes locking, meeting, etc blue eyes. So many blue eyes! And head hopping. But, yeah, still love it. So there's that.

**Rereading now. I'm in a mood...**
Done with the reread and I still love this book. There were a bunch of typos but I mostly didn't care because I like Jackie and Kay loads. Loads, I say!

Another enjoyable tale from Gerri Hill. My review is located on www.lezficrev.blogspot.com.

I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars. I'm a sucker for most Gerri Hill romances and I did enjoy the narration so I went with four.

**did a re-read today (7/20/16) and dropped it down to three stars because of the narration. I don't know why I liked it the last time but this time I had a hard time not being irritated by some of the inflections and pacing.**

2/20/22 reread. Mostly meh. Was good for while I was resting with my eyes closed and barely awake. The whole running out and lack of communication is irritating but I knew what was coming.

I would rate this one a 2.5 but rounded up because I liked the idea of the story. My biggest issues with the book were the parenting and the narration. I couldn't stop judging Hannah's parenting of Jack. She did so many things that made me uncomfortable that I couldn't get past it. And the narration was problematic for me because the voices Abby Craden used for Jack and Lindsey were too similar and there were some places where I couldn't tell who was saying what. It was mostly annoying.

So this one was a miss for me. Mostly.

I probably would have gone 2.5 if I could have. There was just too much repetition of the same information regarding the couples involved. I read the same information numerous times as it was being relayed to various characters.

The couples also felt like they could have been clones of each other - a danger when combining protagonists from two different series when they're pretty much the same people.

Ultimately, I wish there had been more about the crime. And a more believable bad guy.

I'll definitely stick to reading Hill's stand-alone romances.

I liked it. Very standard Gerri Hill novel. The characters were likable - the ones we're supposed to like - and the love scenes were pretty steamy. Not one of my favorites of hers but also not one of my least favorites. A good solid "fine."

I forgot I had read this book a while ago. Definitely not one of my favorites but ok. I didn't connect much with the characters and there were plenty of typos which also kept me from being as engaged as I would have liked to have been.

I would probably give it 2.5 stars but rounding down because Goodreads says 2 stars is "it was ok" and it was.

I like Gerri Hill. She tells a nice story and this one is no exception. It's a typical, formulaic romance but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I enjoy the authors voice and will continue to read her books. I did like this one.

**7/2/14 - feel like listening to a Gerri Hill book while working today. She's one of my favorite authors for re-reads when I just need something comforting in the background. Like a favorite movie**

**Reread this one today. I can tell I'm in a romance sort of mood because I loved the story today. I'm not adjusting my rating but today, it probably would have been a 5. I'm just in that sort of mood.**

My review is posted at http://reviews.c-spot.net/archives/60. I think I'd give it 3 1/2 but since I can't I'm rounding up.

Once I saw this was a mystery, I hesitated a bit before requesting it from NetGalley. I've read the first three books in the Hunter series and barely made it through [b:Angel Fire|22245090|Angel Fire (Hunter, #4)|Gerri Hill|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1434526311l/22245090._SY75_.jpg|41619823] so I normally avoid anything other than Hill's stand-alone romances. I'm not sure what pushed me over the edge to click that "request" button, but I'm glad I did.

I love some broken characters (which says a lot about my early dating choices) and fell in love with both Haley and Carter. The mystery was pretty good, too. I feel like the romance was well balanced with the murdery goodness so I got enough of both to make me a satisfied reader.

I feel confident in recommending this one to all those Gerri Hill fans out there who enjoy either her mysteries or the romances.

Thanks to Bella and NetGalley - I appreciate the chance to read Timber Falls!
