An overview of Picasso's life and works that is appropriate for the novice art historian in all of us. Starting with his early life on the coast of Spain and finishing with his last years in the South of France, his prolific and influential career is presented in layman's terms for popular consumption. Photographs of the artist are interspersed with his paintings and paintings by other artists who influenced him in one way or another. The book concludes with an easy to follow time line of his life that includes important world events alongside milestones of Picasso's career. The book lacks a list of resources or recommendations for further reading, but would still be a useful resource for middle school and high school libraries.… (más)
