If you are looking for a really spicy book, this one is not it. However, if you are looking for a really good story with a morally grey hero and a sassy heroine then you should read this book. There was not a lot of intimate close encounters between Sasha and Gideon for most of the first half of the story.

Instantly, I loved Sasha's fierce attitude. The way she was not afraid to stand up and get in Gideon's face had me a fan of her's. Although, I was not the only one. Gideon too agreed. Thus, the reason I was glad that these two did not get intimate right away as they definitely started out as enemies and turned into a couple by the end. However, I did feel like the slow burn could have ended sooner than it did. It did take to about the halfway point before there was even so much as kissing.

The latter half of the story is the stronger part for me. It is also where it picked up and I flew through it very quickly. I do heart Sasha and Gideon.… (más)

First, let me say that this cover is STUNNING. I have no shame in admitting that I am a cover whore. Even if this hadn't been written by this author I still would have one clicked. That being said, This author is gifted and I try and always read her books as fast as they come out because I know I will get a great story.

Even though many call this dark. I didn't really feel that way. Yes, there were dark elements in regards to the violence in the story but there was no darkness in regards to the main characters. It is for that reason that I wouldn't necessarily call Cyrus an anti-hero. He was actually quite tame. Did he kidnap Ivy? yes, but not to inflict harm on her or force her to be his but rather to protect her from the foolishness that caused her to be vulnerable and wanted in the first place. I liked watching Ivy evolve and come to understand Cyrus but also the reasons that she was there.

I struggled with how the ending came to be. It felt rushed and incomplete after such a buildup of who was behind everything and I have to say that disappointed me because it had been doing so well up to that point. Even the nice epilogue didn't end the bitterness I felt. Still a good book.… (más)
