Oh my. I can't really give this one to students, can I? It opens with such power that it feels like a punch in the stomach. Everyday life in Sarajevo under siege, the community of international reporters and how they cope with the challenges of their profession are interesting and well written, but all the romantic plots are painfully clichéd, flat, uninteresting. However, the opening scene hit very hard even when it appeared a second time, with more context. It was a very mixed experience.

Penny was the main character in this story. She was one of the orchestra so she visited to Barcelona. She played the double bass, but she lost it in Barcelona. It was the beginning of the story.
There were a lot of picture in it. Moreover the characters were drawn. So it made us easy to image them.

Penny Wade is the double bass player. One day she went to Barcelona with her orchestra. But her double bass was lost. After that, some accidents happened.
At first, I thought this story is about only lost double bass. For example, it draws the situation Penny struggle to find the double bass. But it was not true. This book contains love story and human relationship and mystery.
