The Riddle of the Lilac Room por Thomas W. Hanshew
Clever inspector Cleek, heretofor unknown to me as this is my first encounter with him, knows something about mothers, and he uses this knowledge to unravel the riddle of missing child and some Russian mischief. Dated, but entertaining.

I chose this book as the last of ReMo 2021 because I wanted something I knew I'd love. I feel like I've read most of the stories. Although this is a lovely beginning to this great detective. I have to give it four stars.
Reasons for the low rating?
Dollops reaction to Cleek swimming. That was so uncomfortable to listen to.
What happens in the epilogue. First of all, he starves a dog. Secondly, it tells who Cleek is.

So wild and twisty. I would recommend it if you like Sherlock Holmes. But a tiny bit more modern.
