What a lovely little book!

I chose TP because I’m a plant parent too, a hobby I picked up from my mom: her place is chock full of them, bought and rescued both – don’t ask – and every once in a while she knocks on my door with a grin and a new leafy baby.

Her thumb is greener than mine though, and I also have a cat. A young, bad-mannered cat whose motto is ‘I’ll feast on your bones the moment you look away’.

See where this is going?

Full of beautiful plant pictures, this book has everything you need to know if you're thinking about starting, multiplying, and keeping a garden as healthy as it can possibly be. The pictures in this book are not only crystal clear, but also vibrant and very green, making my plant look a little sad in comparison. If you're thinking about growing your plant collection/family, you need to pick up this book.

I did not find this book very useful at all. It was hard to understand and would not recommend it for the average person. I grow plants from seed in 2 large grow light stands. And consider myself some what of a intermediate level gardener. It was interesting to read about the different types of lights plant like but beyond that the book was no good to me.

This is a strong reference for understanding the use of lights with indoor plants. From an in-depth discussion of light, its properties, and how its measured, the book moves on to lighting options and the characteristics of different lighting technologies, some related sections on caring for plants indoors, and ultimately a reference section on the needs of specific plant categories. Overall, it's a good reference book with more detail than most of us will ever need.

The one weirdness of the book is its recurring attention to growing cannabis. It shows up in the examples, and the cannabis pages in the reference section are framed in pink, making them them the only pages indexed by color at the edge of the book. I guess the author and publisher want you to know that this is your book, if that's what you're growing.… (más)
