It wasn't until I moved to the middle of nowhere that I needed a book about poop. Why you ask? Because it's a regular event to find mysterious poop in the yard. Yeah, there's that much wildlife here that I often need to find out what pooped in my yard. Like the big kind of chunky crap that was by the dock. A dog that eats fish? Nah. Otters. But it's not all about poop. Winter is great for looking at critter tracks and it's handy to have a little book that fits in my backpack easily so I can figure out what I'm following through the trees or what has used the trail. Each footprint is detailed in a pen and ink drawing and the track is depicted over several paces so you can get an idea of how the animal walks and if a tail touches the ground.
