Wesley Hales, a user interface architect, has been involved in UI and User Experience roles in both startup and enterprise environments for more than a decade. He co-founded several open source projects during his 4+ years at Red Hat, and bootstrapped the Atlanta HTML5 user group.

The book mainly consists of three parts. I only read the first, the last, and the beginning of the second part. The first part I remember (after two weeks) mainly as a collection of web-apps-related buzzwords. The last part cursorily describes the main new features of HTML5 (WebSockets, localStorage, Geolocation, device-orientation, and WebWorkers) and I did not find it well-written and thought-through. The middle part (about Mobile and Desktop web app development) starts with a piece of Javascript that the author claims uses no third party libraries. Well, that is, except for the authors library that comes with the book (which the author does not say anywhere). At that point I had enough.… (más)
