I thought there were several thought provoking ideas presented on deism accompanied by quotes from jefferson, franklin and others. I enjoyed the addendums with washingtons masonic history. The masonic conspiracy theory however is as far out there as any I've heard which makes the book hard to read for those of us who are members. To the authors credit at least he did not blame the masons for the kennedy assination. didn't know the pilgrims were ringmen either!

Couldn't finish, so I just post this as a caution. Pure, utter conspiracy-theory nonsense. Poorly written, chock full of errors, and not worth the paper it's printed on.

conflict between "one True faith" ethic and broad Deistic, each comes to God by own reason, "Freemasonic" ethic intriguing
goes off the rails with Weishaupt, Illuminati, One-World-Government conspiracy; less entertainingly so than Robert Anton Wilson's Illuminatus series
