Good solid read if a bit distant from the show's arcs.

This one is full of meh. First, there's a cliffhanger that really isn't resolved, except through some hand-waving. And even that resolution, such as it is, just doesn't deal with the actual scene. Then comes a blah Storm-centered series that seems to be solely aimed at depowering her and resolving her relationship with Stormcaster. The last issue, I really liked, but, it's somewhat standard fare, showing why the X-Men keep plugging away and that small victories can matter. The annual at the end is also fun. Also, be ready for a lot of continued selfish melodrama on Kitty's part as she grapples with her emotions after leaving Peter at the altar.

Before starting this volume, I was just ready for this series to be over and was expecting a slog of completionist required reading, rather than actually enjoyable stories. And some of it was. It also felt like an editorial mandate to return all the characters to a status quo and basically undo everything that had happened in the series. But Storm's arc in her village in Kenya was sweet and a nice story point for her.

And the Excalibur reunion in the Annual alone bumped this whole volume up by almost a full star. Maggie is wonderful, I want more of her forever.

But at the end of the day, I'm still just glad this is over and Kitty and Rachel got through it mostly unscathed.

Ugh, this series just keeps getting worse and worse. More aggressive mischaracterisation of Kitty, and now also Rachel. CONSTANT saviour nonsense from Peter refusing to treat Kitty like an adult, a person and a freaking LEADER and instead running off to save and undermine her at every step.

It's exhausting and boring and I'm so ready for this series to be over.

Maybe this means we're finally done with this ridiculously boring and drawn out romance/marriage arc. Maybe? At least the whole series is almost over, I'm very ready for it to be over.

Also, like, fine, there are Rabbis who would perform a mixed marriage between a Jew and a goy (leaving aside the fact that Kitty and Peter never discuss religion on panel, there's a Rabbi performing the ceremony so it must've been discussed). BUT! In a Jewish wedding ceremony, the legal marriage - both the civil and Jewish aspects of that - take place in private with the couple, their parents, their witnesses and the Rabbi. Once you're under the chuppah, you're already legally married. Yes, that part is incredibly important religiously and culturally, but it's a little late for the "ope, lemme just phase right out of here" moment... ALSO, like, come on, sure there are Rabbis who would do an interfaith marriage that includes a Jew, but a totally goyishe wedding? Still under the chuppah? That was a bit much...

I was going to rate this higher until the final few pages ruined it. It was such a fun and classic Mojo story, and they just had to ruin it by making Kitty act completely out of character and all "Magneto is evil incarnate, he will never change, how could you". Like, come on. Kitty of all people has consistently for DECADES at the very least Sympathised with Magneto's perspective. Her grandparents were Holocaust survivors too. She always got it, even if she didn't necessarily agree with his actions, she doesn't consider him Evil and Unforgivable like she's portrayed to here.

I'm seeing more and more why everyone hates this era.....

Closer to 3.5 stars. I love Kitty and Rachel in this book. But everything to do with Piotr is so comphet and just.... B O R I N G. Maybe it's my gay agenda or w/e but srsly, everything else about this book is fantastic and it would be so much better if Colossus just wasn't in it and we didn't have to deal with these ridiculous and obnoxious bits forcing Kitty to get back together with him.

And I've seen the cover of one of the later volumes, I know I'm gonna be disappointed more than not in this hope. Oh well. One day.

This book just continues to be so obsessed with making Kitty a damsel in distress hopelessly in love with Big Strong Protector Man Peter. And I'm so tired of it. She's supposed to be in charge of the team, but instead is constantly being saved and questioning her own choices and looking desperately to Peter and Logan for approval.

It's exhausting and lazy and just awful. I love Kitty so much. It should be impossible to make me hate a book with her leading the X-Men! And yet, impressively, Guggenheim has done a fantastic job of total character assassination nonsense. And there's still 3 more volumes of this crap... Ugh

Ugh, definitely not here for this book being all about Piotr and him convincing Kitty to go out with him again. No one cares, and that relationship sucked every other time too, so, you know, let's not.

I enjoyed returning to the Squadron world, but sad that the team I liked was the first one killed.

N je pacijent koji boluje od opsesivno kompulzivnog poremećaja. On je opsednut brojanjem i dobrim i lošim brojevima.

2.5 stars for sure. But I didn't feel right giving it 3 stars. Another #1 I read where I do not care to read more about it.

Fun fact: This takes place after the whole Rogue & Gambit comic series that I tried to read earlier today. Also, they got back together even though Gambit was problematic. But toxic relationships are apparently normal in this universe. More on that later.

3 short stories that intertwine all in one comic. We see Kitty Pride having issues with the dead men in her life, Peter at his bachelor party, and Kitty at hers. None of the characters seemed interesting. Kitty Pride in this piece didn't seem as selfish as she was in Rouge & Gambit. I don't care for these romances and I won't be continuing to see if they make it to the alter.

Also, not sure if this was meant as a joke but Peter seemed to have a lot of double standards in this relationship. Why was he allowed to have a bachelor party in Vegas but didn't have any faith in Kitty when she was going to her karaoke bachelorette party? Like I said, toxic.

Artwork was okay. I never watched Shield so I don't know much about it. The dudes hitting on May was a bit munch. Overall, I am not interested in continuing.

If you read my reviews regularly (and you should) you know that we are a sucker for the summer blockbuster superhero movies, so we went to see Green Lantern even though the reviews weren't that great.Well, first off, it was fun, which really, what more can you ask for from this sort of movie? You're in the wrong room of the multiplex if you are looking for introspection, character development, suspense. or just about any quality which makes for a classic movie.

I used to read Green Lantern comic books in the 1960s. I remember liking the series but couldn't remember much about him. He has one of the more complicated superhero back stories (try to follow this on Wikipedia, it you can). The movie tries to explain some of it (like the Green Lantern Corps) in voice-overs but it doesn't really make too much sense.

Ryan Reynolds plays Hal Jordan, the hot-shot test pilot. He is chosen by the ring when it's previous user dies after his spaceship crashes on earth. The purple-skinned alien gets about 2 minutes to explain the ring to Jordan before he dies. Jordan, who is a fearless test pilot (some might say irresponsible, or even crazy) doesn't think he has what it takes (whatever that is) to be a Green Lantern. His beautiful (of course) girlfriend explains it to him in about 2 sentences, he gets it, and flies off to fight the bad guy (some sort of giant, octopus made out of smoke). The details don't matter too much.

The choice of Ryan Reynolds for Hal Jordan is a mystery to me. I mostly know him from lighthearted chick flicks like Definitely, Maybe and The Proposal. Sort of like casting Michael Keaton as Batman.

Go ahead and take the kids. They'll love it. There isn't any sex and no gore. The scary parts are more comical than really scary.

One thing to look for. Green Lantern's costume is pretty much painted on which made me wonder what happened to certain parts of his anatomy, especially when he gives the beautiful girl friend a big kiss before he goes "looking for trouble".

Enjoyable and very good in parts but also uneven and disjointed a bit. Nice homages for Dave Stevens' untimely passing, but not always up to the quality of his own Rocketeer work.

While the Mojoworld story arc was interesting, there weren't any real surprises for me. Then again, I've been reading X-Men since 1981 and I returned to this book as it contained most of my favorite team of characters. Still, for newer readers, this would be a wilder ride, and I like the idea of Mojo trying to conquer Earth via television.

I like these stories with Tombstone; the initial story of Flash as a G.I., that is based on a real story (with the information about Corporal Guerin) is great and inspirational. The Punisher story wasn't bad either.
