"Greenleigh Acres was a refuge for the rich and famous, and it was there that Amanda first saw the man she knew only as "Danny." Her heart ached at seeing him confined, and she vowed to let him taste freedom.

Away from Greenleigh,"Danny" became Daniel Phillips, wealthy leader of industry. Someone wanted him out of the way so badly that they'd kept him drugged and imprisoned--and now Daniel was out for revenge. Amanda stayed with him, her heart breaking as he delved into the past - because all her dreams were of the future."

I reread this every so often. Amanda comes to work at the private care facility were Danny is kept drugged. He has the mind of a 6 year old but Amanda comes to care for him. When she finds out he is going to die, she breaks him out of the facility. Once off his drugs, Daniel regains his faculties and doesn't remember her.

I really loved the characterization of both Amanda and Danny/Daniel. Amanda is struggling to do the best for someone she cares for. Danny is written as incredibly sweet and insightful and he helps her come out of her shell. When he becomes Daniel it is a drastic change but she doesn't give up on him. Both characters were very well written and the book is very different and fun to read. It is pretty suspensful in places as the crime is unraveled. There is a solid plot and it all made sense with just the tiniest bit of willing suspension of disbelief needed over the drug they use on Daniel.

Time After Time
5 Stars

(Originally read January 8th, 1991)

Advertising executive Leah French has always put her attraction toward her boss, Paul Gregory, aside for professional reasons. Now, however, she finds herself dreaming of the two of them in increasingly intimate situations and when she realizes that he might just be experiencing the same dreams, she understands that she will have to make a life-altering decision. Can she do it?

Simply incredible!
So rarely do older books live up to a re-read. Not only did this one succeed, but it managed to exceed my fantastic recollections of it.

The dream sequences are woven seamlessly into the storyline and only increase the impact of Paul and Leah's intense sexual chemistry and growing emotional attachment. By the time, the end comes, it is impossible not to root for their happily ever after.

All in all, an awesome re-read and I will no doubt be delving into the story again and again in the future.

Leah French and Paul Gregory work together, and Green's descriptions of their early work relationship just sing - " Leah listened to him with a blank expression on her normally vital face. he was actually offering her an explanation of his actions, she thought in astonishment. That was like God making a special trip down just to explain why He had created snails." However Leah starts dreaming about Paul and her perception of him changes... and then she discovers that he has been sharing her dreams! It's romantic and sweet and I liked spending time with both of them. I liked the slightly magical air of the shared dreams, and I liked the grounded reality of the relationship they grew from there.... This is a reread and a keeper for me.… (más)
