First time reading this author.

I must have been living in a bubble because somehow not only had I missed this part of the Midnight Dynasty world that some of my favorite authors have contributed stories to, but I also had not discovered this author yet. Shame on me, because there was a richness to the writing style that I wasn't fully prepared for. There is no doubt that this author can pen a fantastic series that had me mesmerized from the first to last paragraph.

Grumpy, standoffish, unfeeling men are a weakness of mine which made Owen that much more tantalizing. I loved watching a man that had everything stumble and fall a couple of times in his pursuit of Tanith. Even when he had the best of intentions he still seemed to have foot in mouth syndrome. Coming from a man who was so perfectly perfect, it was refreshing to see. I loved everything about him, especially, his dirty mouth.

Tanith was a girl to admire. I appreciated her tenacity in making sure her dreams and education were a reality. I could sympathize with her for being the odd one out of her group of friends because she did not fit into the elite circle. However, I found myself not connecting with her in regards to Owen at times because she seemed immature and rash in how quick she was to get angry at things that were said. It eventually got better as the story progressed but she was the weak link in the story for me, even as much as I did only want her to be with Owen. Especially, because Owen came out of his shell and left behind his 'gentleman' persona.

Even with minor issues with the story, this was very well done. The author is definitely on my watch list now and I cannot wait to go back and read more from this author and the other characters that played a pivotal part in the story.

It is pretty bittersweet to have to say goodbye to these characters. It has been one heck of a ride. From almost the beginning, my interest was piqued by Sera and Rhys. There was just something about both of these characters that spoke to me.

I knew that there was something to Sera besides just a diva. Just like I knew that there was more to Rhys than just the devil/callous jerk that he portrayed. I had no idea how much more there was until this story. I loved that they pushed each other. Their animosity was real but just like that fine line between love and hate it was that way with these characters. Rhys pushed Sera into being "alive" for lack of a better word and Sera made Rhys realize that there is a purpose to living. The steamy times, when they happened were FIRE. Good Lawd, Rhys, and his mouth were delicious.

There is a major twist to this story that I did not see coming. It made a lot of things make sense. The reason that this book did not score higher was because of the major obstacle/drama in this book (not the twist) because it felt pretty outlandish and not very plausible considering where the characters had been just hours/days before this occurred. However, that was not enough to make it so that this book wasn't enjoyable. This has been one heck of a series. I am sad to see it end, considering this was how I discovered this amazing author. The author(s) did end it in a way that I am pretty excited to see where it leads.

I have loved this series and was very excited to finally get Aurora and Phin's story. From the previous books, it seemed to hint that this would be a murky one considering that these characters hated each other. Therefore I was expecting it to be a little more cutthroat than it was.

That isn't to say that the story wasn't good, because it was. It was just different than I was expecting. Everything just fell into place too easily and almost seemed too perfect. I was wanting more angst and strife before they got to that point. The steamy times were still fire which enhanced the connection that these characters had.

It did give a sneak peek into what is coming in the next book, and I am DEFINITELY there for that one. While this book wasn't my favorite from the series so far, again it was a solid book, and I think it is important to be read within these interconnected characters.

Loved this second in the Hellfire Club series. Callous Prince is steamy, emotional, witty and intriguing. Lennox and Sloane have been enemies for the past 4 years - he hating her for what her father did, bullied her mercilessly; she, as an aspiring spy, retaliated by pranking and tormenting him. They are continually drawn to each other, their chemistry building until they can't resist each other any longer. Excellent read - I'm looking forward to the next in the series.
