- DONNA GRANT spent more than a decade as a model, represented by the 12 division of Ford. She has been featured on the pages of Essence, McCalls, Family Circle, and Woman’s Day, as well as appeared on Good Morning America, and Live with Regis and Kathy Lee. Grant served as the Managing Editor of Maxima before her writing career. She attended Barnard College and is a graduate of New York University. A Brooklyn native, she still lives in the borough with her husband.
Together with Virginia DeBerry, she is the author of Tryin’ to Sleep in the Bed You Made, Far From the Tree, Better Than I Know Myself, Gotta Keep on Tryin’, What Doesn’t Kill You, Exposures (as Marie Joyce) and Uptown (2010).

Continuing their story, it's real life that affects and troubles their lives. I don't always like them but I enjoyed the read
The life of two black women who struggled through life changing events. The beginning felt like it wandered around before deciding where to go with this story but as it unfolded I was more drawn in. If you stick with it I think you'll like the stories of these two women
Not really a romance, more about family dynamics and watching a man's world disintegrate. I was glad when it was over.
While I often wondered where the heck they were going with this story, I eventually was pulled into these women's lives
