The new book, Flying Colors by Gail Garber is a wonderful book for the person who wants to design their own quilts (or practice making flying geese:)). If you can do paper-piecing, you can make at least one of the projects in this book. Garber teaches how to use 'flying geese' to accent a quilt or make a quilt from a variety of 'geese' and a choice of the many landscape elements that she has developed. Sewing curves is another technique that 'Flying Colors' teaches, and she has a wonderful method. To me, the best part of Garber's book are the methods that she teaches for designing your own quilts. To design something of this caliber is very appealing to me. By using a flexible curve tool that dressmakers use on a regular basis. The quilts made from the Flying Colors techniques are fun and happy looking. This is definitely a book I will use a lot in my quilt designing! http://www.ctpub.com/productdetails.cfm?PC=1980… (más)
