A very sweet book of poems and haiku about dogs, nature and dog’s human! It made me smile a lot. I really enjoyed the poem at the end about cats too (cats are my preferred animal but I love dogs too.) This would particularly appeal to readers who enjoy poems about animals, snowmen, Christmas, and life through the eyes of some very cute dogs. I loved the lovely photos of our furry friends in the book too.

It’s a feel good collection of doggy poetry which would be an ideal gift for Christmas.

I received a copy from the author in exchange for a fair review. All opinions are my own and unbiased.

Recommended, particularly for doggy and poetry enthusiasts!

As far as children’s books go this is a really lovely, fun, and sweet story. It’s a story told from the viewpoint of a man telling his grandchildren about a beautiful Great Dane dog who adopted a navy base as his friend and companion. He became the responsibility of the granddad of the story who talks about the many adventures that he has throughout his life including those where Joyful Trouble would get himself into trouble (hence his name).

The writing and description of Furstenberg is delightful to read. It’s a story that can be read by children or read to children. I know a young child who loves dogs and she would really love this book. Adults can also read it and enjoy the story and adventures within. To find out what happens to Joyful Trouble you will have to find out for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.… (más)

This is the second book by this author that I’ve read and once again she didn’t disappoint. We have a story which spans the first 12 months of a puppy’s life with his human family seen through his eyes. Experiencing how he perceives his behaviour compared with how his human family perceives his behaviour is fun and provides the reader with much laughter. The pictures throughout this book only serve to emphasise the fun the puppy was having. It is very obvious that he feels loved and included in his immediate and extended family. We see him trying to ‘protect’ his family from a newspaper to making a new friend in Granny because she is small like he is as well as experiencing snow (which he thought was going to be a person).

This is a sweet series of stories, which whilst it’s not written in my preferred style of every line rhyming, I found it to be a very pleasant and quick read. Something that everyone could enjoy regardless of age.
