The book describes a family and the emotions that each family member may experience. The emotions are connected to colors, providing a visual for how blue might feel. This book is a good example having a bad day, but remembering that tomorrow is a new day. This book is suitable for ages 4-5 years old.

This book ties together moods with colors. "Daddy says he got the grays." It's a great way to introduce dialect and culture to young emergent readers.

This book would work well with teaching colors in a primary classroom.

Summary:

My Reaction:
This would be a good way to have children who are young learn to describe the way they are feeling.

Classroom Extensions:
1. I think this would be a good book to read after the kids have a bad day. A lot of children don't know or aren't allowed to express their feelings.
2. You could also read this and then have the children color a picture of themselves or a family member and color them like the boy described his family.… (más)
