- Biografía breve
- Monte was a pioneer in horse training from the written word and illustrative viewpoint. As far back as 1945, he wrote (and illustrated) articles for a magazine called Back in the Saddle.
"Monte Foreman's Horse Training Science," was released by the University of Oklahoma Press in 1983. He also wrote "Horse Handling Science" and "Cantankerous Leads" _ plus hundreds of illustrated articles for horse magazines in the 1950s and '60s when training stories became the rage.
Monte's philosophy toward horsemanship was this: if a rider uses a horse with ease and balance, then that horse will respond in the best manner it knows how. Balance was the whole ball of wax as far as the rider went; leads were the most important thing a horse had going for it.
He has been a research scientist for horsemen and taught horsemanship. He started his motion picture analysis while training for Richard King Ranch in south Texas. In New Mexico he acquired his first movie camera with a zoom lens. Through his photo analysis has come the thorough knowledge of a "basic handle," something that has heretofore been known only in bits and pieces. Monte's articles on riding and training, accompanied by his own drawings, have appeared in most of the nation's leading livestock magazines: The Cattleman, Western Horseman, Horse Lover, American Quarter Horse Journal, Western Livestock, Horse, Palomino Horse, etc.
