Aboard a cruise ship under an assumed name, Josephine Thorebourne discovers the man she believes loves her, wants to marry her, and convinced her to take money from her parents cannot live up to her expectations. Owen Kelly works as a steward on the ship. He finds himself thrown together with Josephine and seeks to protect her while trying to deal with another female employee on the ship who attempts to bring Josephine down. “Snoop”, the alias of Josephine’s imposter fiance proves to be worthless and escapes the ship with another young lady who appears to deserve him.

The characters and storyline come to life on the pages of this book, and I found myself unable to put it down. Containing redemption, second chances and forgiveness from some characters help draw the reader into the book. I loved how some characters readily forgive Josephine and help her. I also appreciate how Josephine learns to trust God and rely on HIs provision. Truly, this book captured my attention. So check it out for yourself.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but it in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

This book has been a delightful journey as one woman finds out about deceit, hardship and forgiveness. I adored Josephine and understood how easy it was for her to be smitten with a man who promised her a lavish life. I loved the time spent on the ship and how the author gave us a glimpse of what it would be like as a passenger. It didn’t sound all good as uninvited animals scurried about. I would not be able to sleep knowing they were probably watching me.

The author slowly reveals the trouble Josephine has gotten herself into when she discovers she has trusted the wrong person with her family’s money. The adventure in the ship was full of surprises and a character that I think was easy to dislike but oh my how I liked her. Yes I loved Maggie even though she sure was a sneaky, jealous person. She is one of those that is described in the Bible, “as the lost sheep.” She does everything against God, yet He still loves her and puts people in her path to help her. At the end of the book you will find a lesson on redemption that is beautifully written.

Now what can I say about Owen? Well of course he is a God fearing man who is attracted to Josephine. They get to know each other on the ship and form a friendship. When Josephine’s secret is revealed, not everyone is willing to forgive her. Owen shows her how much she is loved and how God forgives each of us. The author illustrates how Josephine turns to God and is determined to make things right with her parents. Now here is where I really liked the story because it shows that not everyone was willing to forgive . She didn’t expect open arms to be waiting for her, but she hoped that her parents would show her grace. The importance of this part of the story is not everyone will forgive, but we must make sure that their rejection doesn’t allow us to turn bitter.

“If life was about what we deserve, we would all be in trouble. God knows what you’ve done. He’s promised to take it to the end of the earth.”

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

Having read the first book in the Rocky Mountain Revival Series, I eagerly anticipated reading the second book in this historical fiction series. I have to say it did not disappoint. I found the characters interesting and the storyline intriguing. This book shows how appearances can deceive.

Hurting from the death of her husband, Madeline Lamb convinces her father to allow her to come on his log drive. Will Boon wishes to make money on this drive to recover wages stolen from him by a woman. From the beginning, sparks fly between the two. While a man named Perley sets out to cause mischief and mayhem along with attempting to relieve his coworkers of their expected wages.

I love how the characters and storyline combine to create a book I could not put down. Some characters from the first book also appear in this one. So check it out for yourself.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

Author LIsa J. Flickinger has created some fascinating characters for this novel that is set in a Rocky Mountain logging camp in 1898 and, as I read Rocky Mountain Revelation, I was reminded of some of the western tv shows that I used to watch. The uncertainty and hardships of life in very rugged terrain. The camp cook who is gruff on the outside and soft on the inside. Some young men who are willing to earn their pay and a few who are up to no good! And then there is the young beautiful heroine who is both sweet and vulnerable. Will Madeline find someone who will truly treasure her and her unborn baby?

This is the second book in the Rocky Mountain Revival series and I enjoyed the reference to the previous book's "Preach" and Isabelle, but Rocky Mountain Revelation can be read as a standalone. It has deceit and trickery but faith is a strong element and Flickinger has given readers an inspirational story to savor. I recommend it to all who enjoy Christian historical romance.

I received a copy of this book via Celebrate Lit. A favorable review was never required and no monetary compensation was given. These are my own thoughts.
