By the time I came across this book on Alvar Aalto, I already owned two books on the Finnish master: Richard Weston's large-format history and Malcolm Quantrill's critical study of the architect. Neither of those titles is exhaustive in Aalto's projects nor comprehensive in the inclusion of drawings. Such is the bonus of this admittedly small paperback that is adapted from a two-volume set published in Switzerland – it is full of drawings of both completed and never-built projects. Comments, by the architect himself, are minimal, but this is a great book to have for studying the floor plans and other drawings of his libraries, churches, cultural centers, town halls, houses, and so forth.… (más)
