Rand Fishkin is the founder of Moz formerly known as SEOmoz. Since then the company has grown to become one of the world leading SEO tools. As you may guess, the book “Lost and Founder” goes through the entrepreneurial path of the author, however, as its subtitle suggests, it is as a kind of a painfully honest guide to all highs and lows which Rand and his business has gone through, as it is eventually come to be what it is today.

In the book, the author bares the truth about the startup fantasies that are amplified by the tech and startup press, but more importantly, Fishkin describes the book as one, comprehensive cheat code for tech startup founders so that they can avoid the mistakes that he made and get around the wasted months, the wasted cash and pain that too many startupers needlessly endure. So, when starting a company of any kind, in technology or in any other space, a huge challenge you need to figure out is why you’re valuable, why you’re unique, how you can stand out, how you can acquire customers and there is a lot of pitfalls in there and I mean that’s what lost and founder is for. So, if you work for a startup company, run one or thinking about starting, joining or investing in this kind of business I believe you should read this book in order to increase the chance to avoid the common mistakes, bad advice and flawed thinking.
