Middle was super slow and it took halfway through the book for the H and h to get together otherwise would have been 5*.½

Love love love this

I absolutely loved this. I loved Kyle and Chloe’s banter, Chloe’s hatred for him, and the push and pull of attraction. They have a past where in high school Kyle messed up and made Chloe’s life miserable. She has resented him every since. She comes from the trailer park, he is the mayor’s son. Opposites attract. There is quite a lot that happens a lot of drama and a very unexpected twist, that leads to a tragic event. My emotions were all over the place and that’s due to the Author’s amazing way to tell a story.

Beautiful

This was such a great emotional second chance romance. Gage and Lauren were high school sweethearts but it ends badly with Lauren walking away. Gage hates her and years later he is back a different man with a chip on his shoulder. Can they move past their history and hate for each other? Or will they be doomed to hate each other forever? I loved this story there are so many twists and turn and angst you can’t put it down.

Just the right amount of drama, sexy, and feels. Loved it!

I randomly picked this off of Hoopla just wanting a light and silly romance. I did not realize until I was a bit into the book that it was part of series for which I had read (or more accurately DNF'd) the rather bad first book, but by then I was a little engaged in it. Ferrell is still not much of a writer but I liked the story and the characters a whole lot more in this than the last. I still don't buy the rush of people happily packing up the truck and moving from LA to Iowa, but sure, let's say that could happen, that cheap real estate would seal that deal. It was what I wanted, light sweet, and hot, just like I like my herbal tea.

DNF at 71%.

This is just so bad. I don't know what to say really. It is not hilarious bad, or offensive bad, it is just boring and useless. The characters are not developed, the story is a series of tropes (pop star and bodyguard, tortured vet, small-town boy and big city girl) glommed together with nothing added. It is like a romance book written by a computer. I wanted mindless and I got brainless. No.

Was not as interesting as the description made it out to be. Dropped the series by chapter 8 but will most likely pick up the series again in the future.

I knew the moment I read the blurb, I wanted to read this book. A character who sits on his porch half naked and his neighbor's response is f*ck off. I love spunky characters. Total hotties with perfect abs...oh, even better.

Chloe Fieldgain is the stereotypical quiet nerdy girl and has been since high school. What's worse is the fact that her boyfriend of five years is marrying the woman he cheated with...while he was engaged to Chloe. Oh and she lives in a small town--Blue Beech. EVERYONE knows what happened. Kyle freaking Lane, her arch-nemesis and sexy-as-hell next door neighbor continues his torment by saying good morning half naked ...every single morning. She has a secret that very few people know about.

Kyle Lane is Blue Beech's golden boy. He has been his entire life after all he's the mayor's son. He made one mistake with Chloe that ruined her reputation for the rest of their high school career and it unfortunately followed her after high school. He's had a crush on Chloe since they were little.

Can Kyle overlook Chloe's secret and the lies she has told to keep that secret?

Quite angsty.
Hero is quite a hard character.
Reasons for leaving seemed a bit weak to me, felt why couldn't she have worked a way around the situation to talk it through with him.
He 'sees' another woman after connecting with the heroine again.
He moves on in their separation and marries though it's not a conventional marriage but still...

Super sweet, with a tension that hangs in the air the entire book. Great scene visualizations in the writing.

The book was alright, it didn't really capture my interest but hopefully others enjoyed it, just wasn't my linda story I guess

Love this heroine's hilarious thoughts:
“After hearing all about his womanizing ways, at least he opened up the door for girls before he tried to relieve them of their panties. I guess chivalry wasn't dead until after you screwed the girl.”


And her hilarious bffs:
“She smeared some gloss on her lips and smacked her lips together. "We should probably get going, though. We are already late."
"Better to arrive late than ugly," Gabby laughed, spraying an entire bottle of hairspray into her hair before fluffing it out with her hands.

And:
“Happy Halloween, Skankenstein. Nice dream catcher belly ring, Piper. Your vagina must have seriously bad nightmares from all the guys it's been around.”
