I grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and spent a lot of my early childhood going to the library and listening to stories. I still love books and read as much as I can in my free time. I am now based in County Meath, Ireland where I spend a lot of time working on illustrations and new story ideas.
Most of my artwork is done using monoprinting but I often add collage or watercolor to the finished pieces. In addition to children's books, I have also provided illustrations for CD covers, magazines, greeting cards and websites.

Small Bunny's Blue Blanket por Feeney Tatyana
Small Bunny plays with his blanket all the time. His mom thought it was time to wash it because he took it with him everywhere. This is the book I chose to do a read-aloud to some children because children can compare the blanket in the story to their own favorite blanket or toy, this book helps them put themselves in other people's shoes.
Love Little Owl's expression when he's first forced to wear his orange scarf.
Young children who are reluctant to get in the bath (or indeed, find it hard to tear themselves away from their toys and games when their parents ask them to do something else) will recognise themselves in this appealing book. Author and Illustrator Tatyana Feeney has successfully captured the character and emotions of Small Elephant in a few simple pencil strokes, embellished with a blob of watercolour here and there. The image of huge Daddy Elephant in the tiny tub will make children giggle.
I liked that the problem felt familiar, but the resolution didn't. Pretty pictures.
