What an excellent book. It deals with issues I wouldn't have expected, but the author has done a fantastic job portraying them realistically. This book is definitely a binge read because I couldn't put it down. I had to know how it would end. I think that says a lot about this book.

Apparently, there is also a second part to the story, and I am curious to see what that will be like. Hopefully, as brilliant as the first part.

First, the characters portrayed are very likeable in their way. I found them, as well as the story, very realistically portrayed. Their actions and characterisation were spot on.

Second, the main characters are Darcy and Olivia. While Darcy is rather chilling and chaotic, Olivia is aloof, controlled, and a perfectionist. I thought they were both excellent simply because they are such opposites and challenge each other. This constellation literally screams to be explosive - and it is! Sometimes you need a counterpart to break out of your comfort zone.

Besides the exceptional portrayal of the characters, the dialogue is also excellent. I laughed out loud so many times because some of their conversations were so entertaining.

I highly recommend this book. A perfect read for a rainy weekend! I am already looking forward to the second part.

You talk about being emotionally invested in a story!

Welcome to the emotionally charged, "relationship roller coaster ride" between Darcy (sexy name by the way) Wright and Olivia Boyd. There are so many things I want to talk about, but I'm afraid of revealing spoilers. I will say this book is better than [b:Tricky Wisdom: Year I|26161109|Tricky Wisdom Year I (Tricky, #1)|Camryn Eyde|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1441062637l/26161109._SY75_.jpg|46120340], which I gave a 4.5. This book has the right balance of humor, drama, and angst. About midway through the book, I questioned what Darcy ever saw in Olivia. Darcy's innocence and devotion makes her the perfect catch for any woman. Why stay with someone as cold as Olivia? However, the author did a fantastic job presenting the hidden heartwarming side of Olivia that only Darcy could uncover. There are few scenes that can make a person ugly-cry. And the sex scenes? Whew! Besides the two mains, all the supporting characters are well-developed and likeable, even Kara.
I highly recommend reading this book and hope the author adds to Darcy and Olivia's journey. A short story will suffice! :)… (más)

This is my second time reading Tricky Wisdom: Year 1, and the book still puts a goofy grin on my face. Darcy and Olivia’s romantic journey is endearing but challenging at the same time. On the outside, Darcy and Olivia appear to be complete opposites. Olivia is controlling, standoffish, and needs to learn how to trust people, while Darcy is naïve, easygoing, and has a lot to learn about relationships. Despite their differences, Darcy and Olivia’s growing chemistry feels real as the story progresses. There are a few tense moments, but with a little scheming, a lesson in thumb kissing, and a diagnosis of acute appendicitis, Darcy and Olivia are well on the way to their HEA.… (más)
