I chose this book because I had never seen a professional text about this specific topic. The author first describes why it is important to have the partnership between school and family. She then talks about why it is tough to make these partnerships work. The rest of the book gives ways in which the teacher and/or school can open up communication and create the much needed partnership between the school and the families in the community.
