The author's approach to spirituality takes account not only of the personal
and inter-personal aspects of Christian faith, but also of its public or
'political' aspects. He is aware that to make an option for the poor in Europe
or North America is not the same as making it in Latin America. And he shows
with conviction and clarity what it means for a Christian from the developed
world to make such an option.
