This webinar discussed the benefits, concerns, and applications of digital media tools in early education. The webinar was directed towards educators and librarians who work closely with young children in early education. A major theme of the webinar was to focus on the three “C’s” of implementing media tools into preK-3rd grade learning environments: content, context, child. The primary focus of this webinar was on apps for computers and tablets. The presenter emphasized the importance that relationships have on young children when they are learning with digital tools and media. A major takeaway was the importance of educators being digitally literate in order to be a mediator and mentor of digital learning tools. The webinar was interactive and engaging, making use of polling technology and the text chat to create an interactive experience. The presenter and hosts made resources available while the webinar was live, which helped communicate the information being shared. The presenter was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the topic.
