Knowing my abiding fondness for Michael D., this formed part of my Christmas gift from my sister this year. I'm definitely not in the target age group for this book, but found the illustrations of some of Dublin's best-known landmarks to be charming, bright and detailed. My niece, who is in the target age group, curled up next to me as we read it and loved the tale of the President's pigeon, who has to fly over the city to get Michael D.'s lost glasses to him in Dublin Castle so he can sign a very important document. "What if he drops them?" she asked me, but don't worry—there is a happy (if very Dublin-sounding) ending!… (más)
