Patrick Dobson

I read this simultaneously with Ambrose's Undaunted Courage, because I was curious about their different perspectives of the Missouri River.
Let me just say, that this is not the reason to read either of these fine books.

Dobson is working on himself and his world view, using the Missouri River as a tool.

Lewis & Clark have very different purposes in mind.

They share emotional and physical ups and downs as they move along this incredible river.

The book, and the story, and Patrick, grew on me as I meandered through this down-to-earth story of Patrick's search.
Patrick walked from Kansas City to Helena, Montana in the course of a summer. This is his journal of that travel and his meetings with people and places.
A lovely read.
