Kayak Girl por Monica Devine
Jana’s emotional journey is depicted in this heartfelt story of a daughter’s grief. Watercolor illustrations seeped in blue help depict Jana’s sadness as she awaits the arrival of her grandfather’s Kayak Girl carving from upriver. By the end of the story, it seems Jana is emerging out of the blue and finding her spirit once more.
The main characters are Kara and Alex. Kara and Alex are competing in a dog sled race.Kara and Alex are enemies.They are racing from Anchorage to Nome in Alaska. Some of the exciting parts in THE IDITAROD by Monica Devine are when there was a moose attack,Taz got poked by a porcupine,and someone almost died.It’s called THE IDITAROD THE GREATEST WIN EVER even though she didn’t win.
I think THE IDITAROD was awesome.THE IDITAROD was awesome because there were a lot of exciting parts in it. I was worried when some of the dogs got injured. I was worried when Kara found Alex and he had hypothermia. I was relieved when she saved his life. I was sad when the dogs got injured by getting poked by a porcupine and another dog died from a moose attack.That’s why I think THE IDITAROD was awesome.
I recommend this book to 3rd and 4th graders because it has a lot of challenging words.I also recommend it to kids that love dogs because there are a lot of dogs in it.Even though there are some parts that are sad,in the end it is happy.… (más)
