Loved this. It was sweet but with an edge because as a reader you're aware of the conflict and as Eric digs himself deeper into a hole you know the fallout is coming.
I adored Colm from the beginning, Eric was harder to like, no that's not true, Eric was just as easy to like as Colm, which made his original act hard to understand.
The setting was very evocative, both the pub and Portland, and I'd love to experience both.
And the scene at the zoo was brilliant.
No steam with a HEA.

Really would give a 3.5/3.75.
I won’t rewrite the description from above. The characters are well developed, especially for a short story. This is a sweet story about 4 people trying to survive and make a living preforming for others and a lonely, tortured man dealing with his “curse” and past. There are stories within the story which were just as good as the main plot. I enjoyed the new take on werewolves, would have never thought of it and it is very believable. I wish it had been longer. I would love to see more of Rolph and Tara. This was the first book I’d read by Christine Danse, but will be reading more.… (más)

If you're going to buy this, it's important to note it's a short novel at 100 pages. But it's good, with a steampunk (more clockworkpunk) element that steampunk fans will like, but non-fans shouldn't mind.
