This book provides a very thorough historical summary of the events that lead to the passage of the Anglo-Irish Treaty and the formation of the Irish Free State. The book is well referenced, very readable and quite balanced throughout, although taking a pro-Treaty stance with regard to the Treaty and the Civil War.
