This is the third book in The Isa Fae Collection. A paranormal political post war novel.
I struggled to get into this book. I think the idea is good. Two factions break out in war and a family of witches escape to live without magic and then it all goes to hell. But there was a lot going on and I had to re-read parts here and there a few times to really know what was going on.
Wren is a good character, she knows what she wants, and she doesn’t wait for permission. She struggles under the weight of her father’s disapproval and with his clear favouritism toward her sister, Soleil.
Soleil is spoiled and willingly naïve. These two young women really don’t seem like sisters. Wren acts like Soleil is a nuisance. Even though Soleil eventually grew up, I felt Wren could have carried this book as a solitary character.
There were a few errors in spelling and grammar, this could benefit from a good edit. It did detract from the reading somewhat.
The world the author has created is vast, well written and full of unexpected things and really the best part of the book.… (más)
