One Last Kiss: The True Story of a Minister's… por Michael W. Cuneo

True crime. Chris Coleman murdered his wife and 2 children and then played the grieving husband. He was the head of security and body guard of Joyce Meyer, of Joyce Meyer Ministries. Her evangelical organization frowned on divorce. Coleman wanted to leave his wife for another woman and had to make plans to make this happen. Great book. I loved it, but then I am a true crime junkie.

A Need to Kill: Confessions of a Teen Murderer por Michael W. Cuneo

What to say about this book. I did find it interesting but after a while I did get a bit bored. The author tells us everything the detectives do, meaning every lead we get to hear about, every interview every ideas of suspects. it got tedious after a while but I was thinking okay it will be very interesting to find out how he was caught expecting the police had done some brilliant work. Guess what, he only got caught because he confessed! Then after that I read that the police cracked the case? Huh? Not that they did not do their job but I guess there was not much else to say so that's why the author focused on the detective work which ended up being stuck.

Normally when i read true crime I am all for a killer getting the most severe punishment but I wasn't so secure in this case. Yes he did not show he was sorry but it is weird that in America you are not allowed to drink till you are 21! but you are allowed to do what this guy did. Decide not to go to trial but accept 3 times life. I've read he has tried to appeal but to no avail. 3.5 stars… (más)

American Exorcism: Expelling Demons in the Land of… por Michael W. Cuneo

Interesting sociological study of exorcisms being performed in the U.S. Cuneo talks about different religions and their takes on exorcisms. He tags along on several, reporting on the background of each case and the actual exorcism performed. Cuneo draws no wild conclusions, rather he lets his observations speak for themselves.

American Exorcism por Michael W. Cuneo

Interesting sociological study of the phenomenon of exorcism in the U.S. Cuneo follows exorcists as they try to sort out psychological cases from those they classify as authentic possessions and sits in on a number of exorcisms of varying types. He doesn't sensationalize these cases, but rather presents them in a straightforward manner.
