Joanne Cubbs

The quilts of Mary Lee Bendolph caught my eye as among the best of all the quilts made in Gee's Bend. This book is the catalog of a show of her work as well as her daughter's, daughter-in-law's and two other self-taught Alabama artists, Lonnie Holley and Thornton Dial, in 2006 at the Austin Museum of Art. Interesting articles linking their works but more gorgeous quilts of Bendolph.
