A Wagon Train for Brides was exactly the light and lively read that I was looking for. Lots of adventure and humor as a tough trail boss leads a wagon train of independent women from Missouri to Texas through some wild territory. Along the way they encounter Indians, Comancheros, and rattlesnakes as well as facing dangerous river crossings and steep mountain passes.

As a ram rod, Howie Forrest knew exactly what to do to get his outfit to their destination but he knew very little about women or how to deal with them. Thinking he was going to be dealing with fragile feminine creatures he was surprised and pleased as he learned that these women were made of steel. Also, there was one, Katherine, to whom he was very much attracted to.

Written in a straight forward and uncomplicated style, A Wagon Train For Brides was a fun action adventure.

The book is OK. The plot is very predictable; however, there are a couple of interesting twists.

Ive never read any of Kent Conwell's books until I won this one in a Goodreads giveaway.

It was a short, enjoyable mystery but I solved the mystery well before the character Tony Boudreaux did which made his searching a little dull. I also would have preferred more emphasis on the mystery and it's solution than a fight scene at the end.

Con well writes well, which makes it a nice book t o read, but I will say cliche phrases tend to be overused at times which made some sections difficult to follow.

Although Conwell has written many other Tony Boudreaux books, I will say that this one was easily read as a stand alone.
