Decent beginning

Very low number of characters keep this a very tight story. Almost too tight, as it seems more of a novella than novel in substance. It also lacked a bit in the motivation category. The MC stated his motivation but left out a lot of details that would have supported his character.

I will try the next book. Worth a second effort.

I had to stop

Putting aside the constant need to define the main character by his minor actions, I couldn’t get past how weak he was. For a half-demon who seems to be arrogant to hide his ‘better nature’, he is a complete pushover
‘I want to bring someone to watch my back. I don’t trust you.’ ‘Don’t bring her, bring this other one.’
‘Okay.’
