Much of what this book recommends will probably seem like simple common sense, but as an easy way to start thinking through the different elements of effective public speaking, this book does a decent job. I wouldn't consider it the tried-and-true Bible of public speaking, an all-authoritative declaration of what strategies will and won't work, but in general the principles offered will, I think, improve most people's speaking ability if applied. The chapters are broken down by different speaking events so the reader can focus on the types of speeches that he or she is likely to give and ignore the less relevant chapters.… (más)
