It is filled with all sorts of treasures.
And the best treasure of all is the katha chest."

The katha quilts are made out of old saris, and Asiya loves to burrow in them, letting the colors and smells remind her of her female relatives. Each of their stories is told in fascinating wordless double page spreads, each featuring four panels, from four different periods of the woman's life. The katha quilts have paint splotches or crisp edges, they smell like tomato sauce or tea. The reason for this particular gathering is to remember Nanu, and Maa tells Asiya her story, in a final wordless spread.
