The book attempts to hold children's attention by having lots of a few life-the-flaps, one very unimpressive pop-up, and many little pockets and envelopes with little paper props and letters inside. That none of the stuff is torn or missing shows how little my daughter came back to this book when she was young. She found it meh too.

this book was the worst book ever

This was one of my favorite books as a small child. The story is very simple, but the illustrations captured my imagination. I don't know if I could ever explain exactly why, but I couldn't get enough of gazing at each page.
