An ESPN sportswriter attempt to make a Yankee-haters book. Unfortunately, he relies too much on the Dave Barry set up/punchline formula and fails to be funny. Not only that, but he repeats many of his jokes throughout the book. I can't imagine it being all to easy to sustain a book merely on Yankee-hating anyhow, but this book fails at the very basic level. At the very least, it has going for it that it is a quick read.

Yankees Suck. I would have liked that for a title. This book takes you through the less-than memorable history of the New York Yankees to publicize some of the worst moments in their history. While there are not many - to my dismay - you will learn that like other teams, the Yankees have went through their share of hard times. It was a fun to read, but I suggest doing it in the off-season when you don't have to face the reality of another season of these assclowns battling for 1st place.

This book is for Yankee-haters everywhere. It is mostly about hating the current edition of the pin-stripers, so if you want hatred going back to Ruth, you'll have to look elsewhere. It also includes some well-tossed bombs at Red Sox whiners.

Caple writes with a fine sense of humor, but also includes some important critiques of league policy and owner behavior that facilitate the perpetuation of the New York Goliath. Well worth the read.
