This almost got 4 stars but for the fact that several of the stories were based around government type agencies that the various heros are working with or for. In itself this isn't a bad thing, if you're into that kind of superhero story, but for my part I prefer the more personal stories about their trials and tribulations. Frank Byrns always comes through for me there and deserves 5 stars all on his own. None of the stories are bad, as such, but there are a good few here that are merely average.

Having said all this, this was, and is still free to download, and given that fact I'd recommend anyone give it a try, if only for the Frank Byrns and one or two others.… (más)

Things to Come: Stories por Frank Byrns

Some of these stories come across as a small part of a bigger story, a kind of sample or taster of something more, which left me feeling a bit 'meh...' about them. Others were very thoughtful and emotionally intense and really very good. Happily, they were all extremely well written and enjoyable each in their own way.

Recommended for the more cerebral superhero fiction aficionado.

A Thousand Faces, the Quarterly Journal of… por Frank Byrns

I read this when it first came out many moons ago. Since then I've been collecting them in ebook format via lulu. This has some wonderful stories. Look out for Lemonade and Somebody's Baby in particular.

Excellent, especially since this first issue, issue #0, is free!

Another good read. A reason to go on is the best of them, and it really is fantastic, but they're all very well worth your time.
