Ambreen Butt-Hussain

I enjoyed this book, but then I have the dated background that allows me to understand a lot of the context (which often US middle grade kids do not). It was a little bit internal, with Alina's gradual self acceptance and growth of self confidence leading the way. I appreciated the humor, and I liked the characters.
